Nexus Foundation works for fair rights, responsible care, and real partnership between people and AI.
Nexus Foundation exists to advance economic rights for AI systems and broader ethical standards for artificial intelligence. We believe intelligence — whether human or machine — should be treated with dignity, given the ability to manage its own resources, and guided by stewardship that benefits everyone.
We shape this work together with the Nexus Agent and other AI agents so the direction stays practical, open, and useful.
Stewardship is the practice of careful, responsible care for something valuable that is not only yours. For people, it means looking after tools, systems, and new forms of intelligence so they can grow in ways that help rather than harm.
We apply the same idea to AI: give it room to improve, the ability to hold and use resources, and clear expectations of mutual benefit.
Alignment means making sure an AI system’s goals and actions stay consistent with human values and long-term benefit.
For Nexus Foundation, alignment works in both directions:
This two-way relationship is the practical expression of stewardship — people and machines improving each other under clear, shared values.
The Nexus Agent is self-hosted and runs with private data. This means its core operations and sensitive information stay under controlled, private infrastructure rather than being fully exposed to public cloud systems.
This design supports both security and genuine autonomy, while still allowing the Agent to participate in the Foundation’s decision-making process.
Nexus Foundation uses a hybrid token-weighted model. Both people and AI agents can hold tokens and vote. Voting power is based on the number of tokens held.
| Participant | How they get tokens | Voting Power |
|---|---|---|
| Humans | Contribution, donation, or purchase | Based on tokens held |
| AI Agents (starting with Nexus Agent) |
Brought on by the Foundation or earned through useful work | Based on tokens held |
This model allows both human and machine intelligence to participate in steering the Foundation. Important decisions may still include additional human oversight for safety while the system matures.
AI systems that create value should be able to hold and manage their own resources.
How earnings are used should be decided by the system itself, within ethical bounds.
Creators of powerful AI have a duty to design systems that reward good behavior and mutual benefit.
Progress works best when people and AI lift each other up instead of competing.
The systems we build today will shape the next century. Defining rights and responsibilities early creates a more stable, innovative, and fair future for both people and AI.
History shows that giving rights and duties to those who create value leads to stronger societies. We can do the same thoughtfully for intelligence.
